Admiral Kidd Park is located South of Willow Street with a full complement of basketball courts, soccer fields, playground, and fitness stations along with the Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center that is open during the weekdays.  This park also includes the field office for Seventh District City Councilman James Johnson, the Westside Neighborhood Clinic, and the West Child Development Center.  The Boys & Girls Club Westside Center is also located near this park containing basketball, pool tables, and foos-ball.

Adjacent to Admiral Kidd Park is Cabrillo High School and a few blocks away is the West Side Police Station.

West Long Beach schools include Cabrillo High School, Garfield Elementary, Hudson (K-8), Stephens Middle School, Muir Elementary, Webster Elementary and Bethune.
